Email permutation
Generating every possible address combination from a first name, last name and domain, then testing them.
Permutation produces the list of plausible addresses — first.last, last.first, f.last, first@… — for a given contact. You then verify each candidate to keep only the one that actually exists.
It is a useful fallback when a company's format is unknown. It must always be followed by verification: sending to untested permutations hurts deliverability.
