Lead

A contact identified as a potential prospect, with at least identity and company known, not yet qualified.

A lead is a contact that has entered the sales radar: a filled form, an imported list, a targeted prospect. It is not yet qualified — you don't know if it has a need, a budget or decision power.

Qualification and enrichment turn a raw lead into an opportunity: complete its details, verify its role, assess ICP fit. A lead without reliable data stays unusable.
